Las Vegas winter vacation packing list!

I am currently planning my first trip to Las Vegas! I loooove trip planning and this one ended up being “last minute” for me, which is about two weeks notice…

I know that may not sound like a short amount of time, but when you like to plan and make lists and do research and read reviews and just get generally hyped up, it is.

Anyway, I am now down to a few days until we fly out, so of course I am almost totally packed!

Let’s do this!

I live in Florida so winter in Vegas may seem like a warmer winter getaway to some, but for me it will be an opportunity to break out a jacket and some sweaters and boots! Highs in the low 60’s and lows in the upper 30’s are a little bit cooler that what we have been having in Florida. 🌴🌞

I made my official packing list this week and started getting everything washed, and set aside for a try on session, (to make sure it all works out as well as it did in my head.)

I am going with carry-on luggage only and our trip is only 4 days long so I should be able to swing it, and still feel like I have choices in what to wear.

For packing clothing I love packing cubes, I am only using two medium cubes for this trip. I will post what I’m packing in each of my 2 cubes first, and there will be outfit pictures and a complete list of other items at the end of my post!

I bought these packing cubes on Amazon a couple of years ago. The set is nice, but I usually end up using just two of the medium cubes for most trips.

Items for packing cube #1

Two long sleeve sweaters, one short sleeve sweater, 1 tee shirt, two pairs of pants and two pairs of socks.

They all fit!

Items for packing cube #2

Lounge wear set (pants and long sleeve top), 1 dress, 1 skirt, 1 short sleeve turtleneck top, 1 sleeveless top, 3 scarves, nightgown, several pairs of underwear, and 1 flower brooch (for jacket or scarf)

All in!

And now my travel outfit:

Bakers brown leather boots, brown belt, J. Brand skinny jeans, The Limited long sleeve tee, Gibson & Latimer chunky cream sweater, cashmere scarf, newsboy hat.

So, I’m not super fancy and there is no clubbing or super high end dining on my itinerary, you are more likely to find us at a local brewery than the fancy cocktail bar! No sky high heels or mini skirts on this packing list…

I chose a few basic mix and match outfits (including my travel outfit) that I can layer and wear during the day, and two dressier outfits in case we decide on a night out that calls for a little more sparkle…or a little red dress!

Mix and match clothing list:

  • Wine colored Talbot’s turtleneck sweater
  • J. Crew brown tee shirt for layering
  • J. Brand skinny jeans
  • Bakers Boots (same as worn on plane)
  • Vince Camuto burgundy suede over the knee boots
  • Wine colored Banana Republic Sloan pants
  • Sweet Romeo Fuchsia lightweight sweater
  • brown scarf, burgundy scarf (not pictured)
  • pink and brown knit bucket hat
  • brown bucket hat
  • Cream wide leg Express editor pants
  • GAP short sleeve navy blue sweater
  • Pink Rose brown short sleeve turtleneck sweater

(Dressy outfit item details listed below 2nd picture)

These pictures show optional mix and match outfits, I may swap out the brown boots for the burgundy ones for a few outfits or wear a different scarf sweater, or hat, but I chose a cohesive color pallet that works well for mixing and matching.

Bar III metallic copper sleeveless knit top, French Connection navy blue and copper sequin skirt.
Red dress is by Victoria’s Secret and the shoes are GH Bass. Gold Scarf/wrap from Amazon.
I’m only bringing one jacket, and one purse. Jessica Simpson navy blue pea coat (with one brooch on the jacket and the flower brooch I packed)
LD Copper cross-body purse with tassel. This light copper color is perfect for mixing and matching with all of the outfits!
The jacket and purse will be put together in my “personal item” bag that will go under the seat in front of me on the plane to save space in my carry on bag.

Other miscellaneous items I will be packing:

  • Camera/camera bag

What’s yours packing style? Do you like to make lists and plan ahead? Do you try on all of your outfits? Or would you rather just throw a few things in a bag at the last minute? I’d love to hear it in the comments!

See you in Las Vegas!!
